What was the last park you visited and how was it?
My last park was at Holiday World. Great and very affordable park. Has the charm of Dollywood and has a great future ahead of it. I was able to add 3 more coaster credits there! lol

Hopefully I'll be doing this same next month. I got to ride Earthquake last year before it was changed. Sadly didn't make it to BTTF because they were in the process of building the Simpsons... Lucky me lol _________________ |

My last time attending a park was Nov1st & Nov2nd in 2008. My friend and I went to The Magic Kingdom on Saturday and Universal Studios Orlando on Sunday. I love visiting the Florida parks in the off-season months where it's not so hot there.
I was initially shocked at Universal's hours (something like 9am-5pm) compared to Disney's (9-11pm). (I figure that the parks consider number of visitors, cost-cutting, etc.) Nevertheless, we were able to cover alot at Universal in that short amount of time.
Highlights at the Magic Kingdom for me were The Haunted Mansion(awesome Escher staircase among many other treats!) and the dark cave element on the Jungle Cruize. The Hall of Presidents was closed. I also went on The Enchanted Tiki Room (under New Management) for the very first time. It was pretty cool!
For Universal Orlando, the shocker for me was the Musion Eyeliner hologram effect used in the Disaster attraction. Awesome!
At the Magic Kingdom, the crowds got thicker near the afternoon & evening, but I assume that it's not nearly as bad as it must be at peak season. For universal, there were relatively no crowds at all. |

It's kinda rigger, but the last park I went to was Knott's (today). You see, I work there. But, I was off today. Got to catch up with people, and ride some rides All I can say is I lose respect for Cedar Fair pretty much daily. _________________ A Skittle and a Pony-Boy! I love Knott's!

My family and I hit Las Vegas over the holiday weekend. On the drive from SD, we made the mandatory stop at Stateline (for the past several years renamed Primm, but what kind of moniker is that for a town comprised solely of three casinos?).
At one time the hyper coaster here at Buffalo Bill's was the tallest and the fastest. It held that honor for only a short time, but I'm happy to report its still a blast, although rougher than I remember. The first drop is a doozy; the second corkscrews violently around to the left. There's still airtime, especially at the top of the 2nd hill, although the camelbacks are tamer than they used to be. A single ride on Desperado will set you back $8.
The next day we dropped by the Sahara for a spin on Speed the Ride. This is a double-LIM shuttle loop coaster if you can believe Wikipedia (in this case its right!). You might say Speed has just been born into its second life. It was shut down for more than 5 months and seemed likely to go the way of Star Trek Experience and Las Vegas Wet and Wild - into oblivion. But now its back.
We were thrilled to have another shot at a first ride. Excellent! But short, so short. The second set of LIMs put a boost of juice right when you need it, before the coaster climbs a vertical spike and falls back through the loop. Pricey at $10, but still cheaper than The Roller Coaster (yes, that's its name) at NY NY. That one's a punishing $12 per and was brutally rough the last time we rode. We passed.
Our last day was slated for the Adventuredome at Circus Circus, at least for the kids (18 and 12). Mom and dad were going to sneak away for a nice, quiet lunch. The youngest took sick, so we're saving it for another trip.
There are fewer amusement attractions than in the past, but Las Vegas still has plenty to offer for those who need to get their ride on. [/url]
Photos are linked over from Vegas.com - a good place for visitor info, especially for shows.
