1st. Is the coast clear. Anyway, a group in New York at Brooklyn has develop prototype for a ride or user experience off the Nintendo Super Mario video game

Commercial video of the Nintendo Amusement park.

The premise is the idea of using physically-augmented reality or augmented reality(ar).
By taking the person sensory perception and alter it with tech and having a false or changing environment it make for a user experience reality  alter their perception.  Think of it as a high tech fun house.
Real world video concept.

For those who want to try this. It's by appointment and is open for beta testing by email them at there official web site.

The creators of this hopes in working with Disney and Nintendo in making this more practical at the theme parks.

For more insight into the tech of this check out this site on "How stuff works" Nintendo Amusement Park.

You know with two big video game movies coming Prince of Persia and Bioshock and the rurmors that Disney and Universal having rides and attractions for these property's in the future. I see this as something of the future of the next hot property franchise. Donkey Kong wild coaster adventure may not be to far in the future. But it's costly. Look at this chart that breaks down the ride.

This looks awesome and like it would be a lot of fun!  I think a great souvenir from this would be a video of the user taken from the side so that it would appear like the classic side scrolling game.

I sent them an email in hopes of testing it out, but I'm not too optimistic since it it doesn't look like their website has been active in about 3 years...  Sad

Yeah I saw that 2006 date there. But what do you think? Can something like that really work. I mean I love the idea, but there is something key missing. I keep thinking that this type of property works more like a dark ride. I see the format of Peter Pan at disney as the way to go. I like the interactive concept I just think it needs a little more work. Well, if they do contact you let us know. I curious on that format and how well it work.
Thanks Very Happy

I think the liability associated with something like this would make it almost impossible.  That and no company would loan their name to anything potentially dangerous like this.

That said, I love the idea and think it would be a blast to try out!  the technology is definitely available, but the capacity behind that would be horrendous... to the point that it would need to cost each participant quite a bit in order for it to be profitable.

I could definitely see a safer version of this popping up at parks as an additional fee attraction.  Think of something more along the lines of a gauntlet style obstical course.  it would be neat to have a feeling of 1/6 g or something while going through it.
