Is anyone on here subscribed to any type of amusment industry publication? A looong time ago when Opryland was still alive, my mom used to bring Amusment Today papers home from Opryland (she still works there for tickets and reservations). With that said, does anyone know of a good one to subscribe to?

I think it's the Inside the Magic podcast that does a good Orlando theme parks magazine......it's actually very good, we have, I think 3 issues. It's a bimonthly publication. They just started it, I believe in December or January. Doug can confirm that for you.

Amusement Today was okay, as I recall, but we haven't gotten that one for a long time.

I Googled "amusement park magazine" and got these lists:
www.amusementtoday.com
www.themeparksmagazine.com
www.themeparkadventure.com
www.inparkmagazine.com

The In Park Magazine (IPM) actually sounds like a good publication if stats are your forte. It says it is involved with lots of the conventions like IAAPA. They sound like they are the most professional. BUT, that's just from going over the website home page.  It's a bimonthly, too, and it costs $25 for a year.

Amusement Today is pretty pricy, I think, at $50 for a year. I actually think that's fairly unreasonable for a bimonthly publication, but I don't know what it's insider info is like.

The Theme Parks Magazine looks okay, it says it's more for the general park goer, so probably is not as in depth as others. Probably more designed with the summer vacationer in mind but trying to appeal to the more enthusiastic as well. You seem to be even beyond enthusiastic, so you may want to do more research on this one before committing. It's $20 for 4 basically seasonal issues. That one is cool, though, it appears like you can back order an issue to see if you are interested in committing to an entire subscription.

Theme Park Adventure looks like it covers a broad array of theme parks and amusement parks. I don't find any subscription information on first glance, but it looks like it has a LOT of different information. The website looks pretty interactive as well. They also offer a forum, not that you would ever want to leave this one!! LOL  They also have a lot of cool charitable links on their site.

Anyway, those were the 4 that sounded the most promising on my search. If I were going to buy a subscription, as a beyond-enthusiast, as most of you are, I think the In Park Magazine might be the best way to go. BUT, if I'm wrong and it sucks, then it's all Doug's idea and blame him.  Cool

lol thanks a lot! I've been keeping an eye on the Orlando based magazine. I love the Orlando area and I'm always looking for something to do there... So I probably might go for that one.

I've also heard of IPM and that sounds like that might be good too.

Amusment Today was ok when I was younger, but it seemed more like a professional publication. It had a lot of ads from manufactures and amusement companies and a few stories in it which were ok but I don't think it's much of an enthusiast publication.

Thanks again!

Yeah, InPark Magazine from our buddy Martin Palicki.  It gives you all the info you need to know.  inparkmagazine.com

Also, Ricky's magazine.  Completely different from Martin's, instead of the latest news, technology, and numbers - you get a more "Orlando Theme Park Fandom."  Lots of pics and article based on Orlando attractions.  attractionsmagazine.com

I used to be a subscriber to Amusement Today.. I should resubscribe; it's only been 5 years.  Confused

I just subscribed to both of them (IPM & Orlando Attractions). I don't know about IPM though. I paid for it and it was through pay pal... but I havent got any type of information about it. Orlando Attractions gave me an email telling when my first issue will be here, but nothing from IPM.

If you don't receive IPM within the next couple of months... well, you know the right people. Smile
