A new type of seating is being look at for mass transportation. This has a roller coaster seating type of feel with a ideal for more impact protection.
Here's a quote from the story at Yanko Design about the seat.
Quote:
The design has excellent properties for impact absorption in both front and rear impacts. The safety system is further augmented by an anti-whiplash backrest that comes forward upon impact. Best part it the stowaway feature - neatly sliding up and down roof rails or folding up when you need to seat more cargo than people.

I wouldn't mind riding the bus or van's on these seat. It's not a thrill ride, but it makes you fell like one.
Here's a link to the story.

I wish the sold the test seats! so you could use them as game chairs or if you're a mega coaster nerd put it in front of the tv, pop in a coaster dvd and pretend you're riding a coaster.

I think those D-box seat's could be made to do that kind of setup. I check out some used prices and man it's a lot. About $5,000 to 10,000 just for those seats. I wouldn't mind that setup only if those coaster video add 3-D to them. I guess it's all about binging the real thing I guess.
