It's always weird to listen to a podcast and then hear your own name.
I perked up and, for a split second, had that feeling we've all had in school when you're called on by the teacher and you weren't totally paying attention.
I suspect Expo 2010 wasn't a big topic at IAAPA Asia because so much is already underway. Most of the pavilions are under construction on some level.
I'm glad to hear that there's talk of Expo 2012. The Korean organizers really seem to know what they're doing and had really slick materials and information coming out of the gate after winning their bid, so I'm not surprised there.
Yum! Brands and Cargill have joined as sponsors of the US Pavilion recently, but we'll see if that's going to be enough. It's good to see the money from my years of visiting Taco Bell at work.
We have until June 30th to make things official with the Expo 2010 organizers. I've been posting updates and links to other blogs on ExpoMuseum's Twitter feed at:
http://www.twitter.com/expomuseum/
The Twitter feed is also syndicated on the ExpoMuseum.com home page and the ExpoMuseum blog. |

Greezed Lightnin' came from Six Flags Great America in IL. After IL, it went to Six Flags Over Georgia as Viper (where Superman Ultimate Flight is), and than it is now at Kentucky Kingdom. It's the same type of ride as Great America in California, but not the same ride. At Six Flags Great America, it that location is now Batman the Ride. It used to be called Tidal Wave. What's funny is that they put in a shuttle coaster across the way from Batman the Ride called V2 (Vertical Velocity). You have a V2 at Discovery Kingdom, but this one is built right , and not on it's side.
Shapiro says this stuff doesn't affect the parks. Well, obviously it does. At Kentucky Kingdom, you saw first hand that they can't even knock down a wooden coaster to save money. I kind of think they want to sell that park, and having the wooden coaster up would get them more money. At Great Adventure, they too have a section closed with some rides just sitting there. This the company ripping out rides left and right, and it's all to save money. It does affect them.
For the train at Six Flags Great America, they don't even have half trips yet. You can only go fully around the park instead. They won't let you get off. For the antique cars, they wouldn't let single riders on last year. I haven't checked this year. The guy is just trying to cut costs on everything he can. At Six Flags Great America, they even open a section a hour later. That's how they are able to go positive. Not only that, but ad revenues, and locker fees.
I wouldn't be surprised if you get more and more rides gone from Six Flags to save on money, and make more money. Add a basketball game instead of the Rainbow is there solution.
Yeah, Kentucky Kingdom isn't that good. There isn't much of anything to get me there. After they killed the Chance Chaos, what's the point. Chang is at another park, and I'm not going to go for a rapids ride even though I think it's the best one out there. They should sell it.

For Magic Mountain, what a joke Thomas Town is. They have a train ride, and a former kiddie roller coaster for an area. How pathetic is that? They are the ones that tore out so many of the flats that could allure the families. They are the ones that are saying that they want it to have the most roller coasters (take the record from Cedar Point). Why don't they compete with Disney, and get some dark rides (multiple ones based on their licenses)? Also, add some flats to it (different than dark rides). They didn't need to add yet another coaster called Terminator.
Take down Revolution if it's not a good ride, and it's not alluring people, or Viper, and put some other stuff in. I don't mind taking out junky rides for other rides.
I think they are trying to be the anti-Disney, and figuring that the teens don't really care for Disney so they could get them. Not all teens just like roller coasters, and also even if you are a teen, you probably want to go on more stuff than just roller coasters. Even a thrilling flat would be great for that park. Add the dark rides, some thrilling flats like a Wipeout, Flying Bobs (They are different than the Himilaya they have.), KMG Afterburner, and also some moderate flats like a Cliffhanger or something like a Huss Swing Around (like the one at Hard Rock Park). |

Ahh, I got the 2 Great Americas mixed up, thanx for the clarification. The GL from CGA was called Tidal Wave back in the day too. You brought up V2 which is another coaster that was great when it first opened in Marine World before they altered it to fit within the height regulations of Vallejo, it's not nearly as good now.
You're right- it's obvious cut backs have been made for budget reasons with Six Flags. As a fan, I'll remain positive and "pray" that the parks will remain in operation (except KK... they can do what they want to it). I didn't realize there was a clone of Chang in another park. It is the ONLY ride that stands out in KK sadly.
As for SFMM, I agree about Thomas Town... Very Small! With Revolution, I would like to see a complete refurbishment of the ride, unfortunately it would cost to much and it won't be a Door Buster (so that's completely out of the question).
Anyway, thanks for the info ZipperRules! I'll make sure to remember it for future conversations.
Take Care!

Yeah! That was pretty crazy. huh. imagine that?..um. . I actually lost for words about that.
Great to hear Brent again. I definitely agree with Brent about Terminator Salvation movie.
Man! I would love to have seen that other Alien ride. It sounded awesome.
With all these talk's of remake or redo's for Aliens and Predator movies, maybe we can see a ride or attraction come out to park soon.
You know the UK Alien War attraction is coming back. I wounded if Nick can get a chance to go one and tell us what he thinks.
Well I see what you were talking about now. Great show as all always. That demo sound a little like the Natal thing. Funny how things work that way, Strange huh!

I don't do horror walk through attractions. ALIEN WARS is in Glasgow - which is very far away. A friend of mine works in the same area where the attraction has been installed - and says it looks terrifying. So... you won't be hearing about that from me!
