EPISODE 35Wow! Is today Wednesday? Well, better late than never. This week’s show has absolutely no educational value, but Nick Hutson and Doug Barnes fill episode 35 w/ Water Slides, Museums, Friendship, and Graphic Gore!!! Oh… and we finally have a female appear on the show! Download the podcast to hear who it is.

Shannon, It's neat that you were at Texas last weekend, because I was there too! I was in the Arlington/Dallas/Ft. Worth area visiting one of my cousins. Six Flags was right down the street from me. I told my cousin about Schlitterbahn and how I wanted to go there sometime, so next summer I plan on going there. Sounds like you had a great time there!
LOL!!! John McCain is old! So funny because I was thinking bout how crippled he looks!
Glad to hear a video podcast is coming!!!
I saw that story about the two guys who got thrown from that ride. I've seen that ride on RCT3 but I didn't know that the people were allowed to stand and basically do what ever they want lol.
London Dungeon sounds very.... unique? lol I really do think I would like to visit that place if I ever go to London. I looked at the pics in the Show Notes section and London Dungeon looks somewhat like a haunted house... with different attractions within it. LOL!!! I love Doug and Shannon's reaction to the picture with the intestine from the random clips after the show.
I never really saw pics of the new monorail until now and I'm really impressed. These are pics from Disneyland... is WDW getting them too?
Overall the episode was another great one and btw, Shannon is a great addition to the podcast! lol Hope to hear ya on another episode!

It was nice to hear your wife on the show, she seems to have a taste for gory entertainment.
The Mark VIIs look amazing, I hope WDW upgades theirs before too long, but I won't hold my breath. (Riverview is about 80 min from Orlando)
As far as politics, it's your podcast, but half the country sits on each side of the fence.
And I will not be visiting the London Dungeon. I love Halloween Horror Nights at USF, but the Dungeon looks too close to reality.

^ Hey I plan on moving to Orlando around fall 2010 or the beginning of 2011. Never heard of Riverview, I might have to check it out.
I haven't been to Halloween Horror Nights yet. BTW, I'm so confused on how it works as far as the price goes. I really want to try it this year though.

LOL, I have to admit I do love the macabre and if I didn't have the little guys my house would be the one where the kids either run away from or flock to on Halloween! You'd never know it to look at me with my disney princess shirts and pigtails though......LOL
I'm a dichotomy, oh yes, I'm that deep. LOL
Thanks for the kind words Etapley, I was a little nervous about going on the show. LOL, I'm the go to girl when all else is lost I guess and there's nothing else for him to talk about.

By the way, Etapley, if you do get a chance to go to Schlitterbahn I highly highly recommend it!!! We went on a Thursday and it wasn't too crowded and the people there in Texas are so hospitable; but, since you live in the South you probably are already used to that!
There is so much to do there that if you have the opportunity I would say to go for a couple of days. They actually have cabins that you can stay in that are actually in the park, you just walk out of your room door and there's a "lazy" river. The lines for the rides can be pretty long, and the Master Blaster has a tendency to break down, but I think it's worth the wait, at least once. I highly, highly recommend the Boogie Bahn, which is the surf wave, and the "lazy" river that it dumps out on. The river literally tumbles you end for end and my mom said she couldn't breathe because they were all laughing so hysterically because of it! Also there are at least 4 or 5 open rapids type slides that are really fun, like I said, the one drop was at least 10 feet and it felt like it was a 90 degree drop that dumped me a$$ over end, but I think my tube was defective......at least that's my story.
The other awesome thing about the tubes is that you don't have to rent them, they are just down at the bottom of this hill in a gigantic mountain of tubes that you just grab from. There are also tons and tons of places to sit and there are swim up bars for both adults and kids.
Anyway, if you do go, take a group with you and experience it together, that's the best way!! My cousin has some pictures that he took with his waterproof camera, I will try to see if I can get Doug to post them.

Ha... Yeah. My Wife is a character to say the least. I agree about the Mark VIIs- I hope Disney can expand this Star Wars type of look throughout Tomorrowland.
As for politics; the McCain comment is just for laughs. I know many people take their political leaders very seriously, but for me I try to always have fun with current politics (if I tried to be serious about what's happening with congress and legislation... I would go insane!!!).
That's just me though. We'll NEVER be a Political Show.
Anyway, thanx for the comments my friend.

Riverview is a little south of Tampa, very close to Busch Gardens, 80 min from Orlando. Good place to live.
HHN is an amazing time. As far as pricing, if you live here, you need to have a season pass(your ticket to ride). If you have a season pass and go on a non peak night, it cuts the price of hhn about in half (around $30), at least in years past. If you are coming in from out of state it will cost a little less than a single day pass.
If you are in the area at Halloween, Busch Gardens Howl-o-Scream is almost a big, tons of fun.
Doug as far as politics, nothing you said bothered me. I listen to a lot of podcasts, on a lot of different subject. I hear a lot of Bill Maher wannabes and they rub me wrong. I know you wouldn't go there but I mentioned it.

Your wife was awesome on the show. You two had some great conversations going! One of my favorite episodes for sure.
It felt really casual yet I felt I got a lot out of it learning about the different parks and opinions you each had. Great job!

Dougscoastergirl, Yea I really want to go to Schlitterbahn and I know the lines have to be pretty full all the time. I think that's the main thing that does it for me at water parks. I hate standing in those lines lol. Thanks for all the advice and info! I'm so excited to go now lol! BTW, it's definitely a two day water park?
Wylder, Thanks for the info! I was so confused last year about how they charge for that! I thought it was the normal price and then an additional price for the night time. lol I was clueless! I want to go this year but I probably wont be able to.

Tapley, If you go during the day, you pay full price. Universal clears the park about 5 or 6pm and HHN is a separate hard ticket event. They do offer a option to add HHN to your daytime ticket, but I have been a season pass holder, so I have never used that option and don't know the prices.
