Quick note on this episode... Unfortunately this is a rushed product. Sorry for the poor quality this week folks, just didn't have the time to clean this one up.

I agree that Hard Rock Park was a bit ambitious with 3 million in attendance... I can't imagine where they got that from. Yea I think the state of the economy kind of messed up attendance, but I still don't think that 3 million would have happened. Actually, now that I think of it, no one that I know outside of the few amusement enthusiasts that I know, knows about HRP.
The "unfinished Disney park" has been on my mind since yesterday when I heard the podcast lol. So what is it doing right now? Are they going to demolish it? Are they going to do something else with it? It kind of amazes me how they just stop and leave it there lol. About the knock-off Disney, can they have a Disney knock-off and nothing happen? I'm sure Disney is aware of it.
I think I'm starting to like the possibility of Merlin/Blackstone buying the Busch Parks. The fact that Blackstone has part of Universal Orlando gives them a great advantage in FL. There's a lot of Busch properties in FL and they would dominate there lol. BTW I didn't know how seperated USO and USH were in management.
I like the new format. As said before by the others, I like the voices done by your friend! lol The show is great! I love the boards! Yall are the best! Keep up the great work!

Kraken! Sorry for the lateness lol but welcome to the forums! Are you the same kraken that's in the ThrillNetwork boards? I'm really active in the Dollywood 2009 topic and I've seen the name a few times on there.

Here's more of that fake Disney park in China:

To be honest I find Hong Kong Disneyland to look amazing. Obviously they lack the rides right now.

lol are they serious?! Here's a quote from the second link in Lee's post:
"Deputy general manager, Yin Zhiqiang, said: “The characters in our park just look a little bit similar to theirs. But the faces, clothes, sizes and appearances are different.”"
I really do hope that the fake park doesn't think that's going to fly. lol I know they're not that clueless.

the Mad Hatter, welcome to the forums- glad to hear from ya.
Lee5, thanx for the reports... I have to agree with the park though; it definitely is a Cat with REALLY BIG EARS! No copyright violation here. Plus, that's a Communist Sailor Duck OKAY! Completely different from the Average Sailor Duck wearing a blue cap and shirt... jeeez!
I wonder why the youtube videos are no longer available... hmm... maybe Fuel for Disney's Lawsuit Fire!!???

I think this is the same park that was being talked about on all the Disney sites a few months back.
It's comical, really. You almost want to feel sorry for the people that run the place.
I wonder how hard it is to enforce US copyrights in another country?
Disney should be ready to go all Soup Nazi on these guys...."NO PARK FOR YOU!"

It's a wannabe Disney.
I think it'll be very interesting with NBC/Universal owning BEC. At least the LPGA will definitly have a broadcasting station from Kingsmill Resort. Also here's an interesting point to think about, since BEC will no longer be part of Busch Corp will the parks now be dry parks and not carry the Busch Products? Since people go there to either ride the rides, see the shows, and/or drink the beer.
Great show Doug and Brent! Would like to use some of your info in our podcast, Racheal's Coaster Cast (now changing to Behind the Thrills). But it is all a learning experience. Once again thank you.

thefox89- Welcome to the boards my friend. The BEC situation - as each day passes it's hard to tell what is going to happen... it's actually pretty exciting.
If you need any help of info, let me know. Take Care

The Incomplete Disney ParkHey guys - sorry for the late response, but I fell behind on listening to the shows, and I just got to listen to this one.
I had a look at Brent's photos from Beijing, and my suspicion's that Brent's Chinese contacts may be having a little fun at his expense, or someone in China would really like people to believe that there's a connection between the incomplete park and Disney and has been feeding a phony story to people.
I agree with Brent that the quality of the park is pretty impressive compared to some of the other Chinese parks, but it really doesn't seem like they put Disney's level of attention to detail into the buildings. Disney tends to theme buildings intended to be visible to the public - inside or outside the theme park - more throughly; if they weren't intended to be seen to contribute to the theme, they tend to go for more non-descript buildings painted in colors that don't catch the eye, or hide the buildings with landscaping.
I suspect that the real case here is that the Chinese government started building a new theme park, perhaps in preparation for the Olympics, but decided to either abandon the project completely or delay the project after Disney had a fit about Shijingshan and complained to the government about it.
If I'm eventually proven wrong, I'm willing to buy you guys a round of drinks - what'll you guys have?

Sierra Nevada!! j/k. Great Point Shnebs... I'm not really sure what to think about this "Non-Park." I can easily believe your point because it's... well... China! Copyright issues seem to be a non-issue there for some reason. Who knows?
It's good conversation though. BTW-Welcome back my friend!
