Another great episode. I guess it's a good thing that Brent is keeping busy. I'm really looking forward to hearing about the future Super78 projects!
I agree with you that amusement park employees should get paid more than minimum wage though. I wouldn't want to deal with all of those rude people every day for minimum wage pay.
The Disaster audio was awesome. I'm really looking forward to being able to experience it for myself some day. It seems like it is pretty cool.

Great show.
I was a little worried when Nick started to play Piano Man, some classics shouldn't be messed with, but Nick did a great job. Just add some harmonica and it could be a hit.
Loved the Disaster audio. I haven't been on it since right after it opened. I had forgot how funny it is. The old version was interesting but not near as much fun. I think Sharron may have some feline in her, with her great fear of water.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it.

I would have recorded the harmonica part as well (I always do the song at the piano with my harmonica), but it was 2am when I recorded it - and I didn't want to wake people with my harmonica playing. I will record the harmonica part over it and maybe it will make another appearance on the podcast!
I think Sharron would like if you called her by her real name... Isn't that right, Shannon?

It's okay Nick, we personally know Wylder and he knows her name is Shannon... just a typo.

Sorry Shannon, my bad.
Nick, look forward to hearing the song with the harmonica mixed in.

Meh, I'm so busy with school, work and kids right now I don't care what anybody calls me anymore LOL
Incidentally, Anyone who can help me with Organic Chemistry or Trigonometry is welcome to call me whatever they want.
Tell Deanna I said HI!!!! (waving) and that I think of her every time my kids watch Wall-E.......which actually has been several times a day of late, so, yeah, thinking about her a lot. LOL

Funny show guys. I loved Nick's intro song! The Disaster audio was funny, but what is that ride like? I havn't heard of it so I don't know anything about it.

You're right... we haven't discussed the ride mechanism itself. It's the refurbished Earthquake ride. If you never been on earthquake, it's a basic tram that looks like a subway train and sits on a track that will move, shake, rise, drop, etc. The ride itself simulates an earthquake, but the real fun of the ride is the script... extremely funny and Christopher Walken is outstanding (as always ).

yeah, the actual "ride" isn't that great (in my opinion) but I live in California, so i don't want to feel a simulated earthquake. It's the experience of the preshow and the movie afterwards that made it so great. And, like doug said, Christopher Walken is just great. He adds funny to whatever he does......well, except for the Deer Hunter...........hmmmm
And yes, Wylder, as you may have noticed, I don't like to get wet at a theme park. Obviously you experienced this with my full coverage garbage sack burkah on Cali River Rapids--Which your wife verily benefitted from my hatred of water, might I add, with my extra ponchos, while you got soaked in like 30 degree weather. LOL Call me a feline but at least I'm not wet and freezing cold, ever. of course I don't like to be hot and wet at a theme park either. Who likes wet jeans and shoes? blech, I'm getting grossed out just thinking about it.

You don't get wet... unless you sit on the very outside, right beside the flood section (which is where I was) and even then it's just a few drops.

on disaster you don't really get that wet, no.....but I always prepare myself to not get wet by any means. and it looks like you are going to because that water comes at you fast. Plus I was right on the outside seat where the water was rushing.
Luck favors the prepared is what I always say when it comes to not getting wet on any ride.

alright ill make a note not to sit on the outside when i go. i dont mind getting a little wet at a theme park but i hate getting soaked

nah, don't even worry about it. you won't get wet. I got like 2 or 3 drops on me. I just panicked because it really looked like I was going to get it big time. And I've learned not to trust any of the Florida Parks to not get you wet, especially Universal.

This is the first podcast of yours that I am listening to. Yes, I am about half way through it, and am extremely impressed! The Disaster audio was interesting, and hearing about latest rumors and parks is always awesome. But what made me shed a little tear was the part about Cedar Point and their wage problems. I work at a Cedar fair owned and operated park (Knott's), and it was really nice to hear your little bit on ride ops. We do stand for long periods of the day and have to deal with some of the stupidest complaints. I love my job, but we are definitely under appreciated. Thank you.

Rollerman87, welcome to the Season Pass Forum - Make yourself at home. I'm glad you were able to get a hold of the show and thank you very much for the kind words.
Great to hear you work at Knott's; a very good park. We went there for the Halloween Haunt in October last year (tspp # 48 & 49 + tsp video # 1). We had a blast, so thank you for making our visit excellent!
Take care my friend!
