Favorite Park

What is your favorite park and why?

I have a tie between Dollywood and Universal Studios Orlando. I love that both of them use a ton a scenery. Dollywood is a good home park for me... I'm used to the country and it's basically what I grew up around so Dollywood makes me feel at home the most. Univesal is definitely a good getaway from the country lol. It puts me in a completely different atmosphere that I'm not used to and offers some more thrilling rides than Dollywood. I'm just now starting to travel to different parks like I want to so this MIGHT change when i start visiting more parks.
Wylder

I have never been to Dollywood, but it sounds nice.

Favorite park(s):

Epcot - Relaxing and yet has some thrills.  It is a great all around park.

Cedar Point - For strait up thrills.  (I will be there next week. I hope Maverick is running, it was down all day last year when I was there.)

USF and Busch Gardens - For thier Halloween events (Tapley, you should try to get to BG for Howl-O-Scream this year before the new owners mess it up.)

Honorable Mention - Kings Island (Love the Beast - best wooden rollercoaster)

My parks are heavily weighted towards Ohio and Florida, I have been to parks in NC, CA, Vagas, and GA,  but the ones I mentioned are my favorites.

I still haven't been to Cedar Point and I want to sooo bad!

LOL! Let's hope these new owners don't mess up BG. I haven't been but the parks look great and that's the same parks I want to see when I go for my first time. This year was my first time hearing about BG's Howl-O-Scream event... there was one last year wasn't it?

BIG NEWS! I'm going to Kings Island for my first time this Saturday! I'm so excited. It's going to be a one day trip so hopefully I can get everything in on one day [crosses fingers]

Have a great time at KI.  As I sait in my previous post, the Beast is the worlds greatest wooden coaster.  Son of Beast is brutal, though I haven't ridden it since they took the loop out, I hope it is smoother.

Also, if you like R&R coaster, ride Flight of Fear.

Howl-o-Scream has been going on for quite a few years.  Universal started HHN, I think in 91, and Busch Gardens followed a few years later.

Have a great time

Well, Disneyland of course, but that goes without saying, that and USH are kind of in an eschelon above others, so I don't necessarily count those......

I think my favorite theme park I have ever been to had to be, it's a close call between SF Fiesta Texas and SFOT.......they are both really really awesome. I dunno, I'm a Texas girl at heart though, so maybe it just pulls at my southern roots heart strings, lol.  They have the best wooden coasters there, the wooden rides are my favorites, they always have been. I think my fav woodie is Ghost Rider at Knotts.  I'm embarassed to say I don't remember Texas Giant that well at all.  Embarassed

I know I mentioned these parks numerous times on the show... but, I live by a mixed agenda anyway.

Disneyland is the best park on the planet; it has everything! Hightest Qualtiy Design.  As for straight up amusement parks though - It has to be Cedar Point (I know... fall in-line with the rest of the lemmings!).

Man... yall are really making me want to go to Disneyland! lol I'll have to make that trip a couple years from now though.

Son of Beast is not brutal at all now. It just does nothing for me to like, but I don't consider it rough. I don't know how it was with the loop though. For Flight of Fear, I didn't like it that much and it's because of that trim, and the fact that you can't see much of the track. In my opinion, it does too much to be almost in the dark, and you can't see the track. I however, really like Joker's Jinx at Six Flags America.

Besides that, my favorite park is Six Flags Great America. Yes, it is my homepark, but the really reason it's my favorite is because the waterpark is "free" with admission to the regular theme park. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be. I think there are 3 great rides in the waterpark, and 6 great rides in the regular park. I really base on which park is my favorite by the great rides.

The great rides are the rides I could really be on for an hour, and enjoy them. For good rides, it's only like once or twice, and bad rides I just don't go on.

So, my 6 great rides (regular park) are the mouse coaster (Dark Knight), Batman the Ride, V2, Demon, Whizzer, and Superman Ultimate Flight. The 3 great rides for the waterpark are the wavepool (This is amazing in my opinion!), Bahama Mama, and the lazy river.

For my 2nd favorite park, I have many parks that are tied. They are SFMM, SFOG, Cedar Point, and SFOT. However, I think pretty soon SFOT well be number 3 because I think they might be tearing down the boomerang.

Six Flags Great America sounds good, I hope to get there one day.

One of the reasons I like the Flight of Fear is because it is so dark.  Twisting and turning, without knowing where you  are going, is a great sensation to me.  As for the Son of Beast, I was in pain the last time I got off of that coaster.  In all I have rode it 3 time, all with the loop and it beat me up every time.  I may try it again some day, but I don't know.
I will be going back to KI this summer, I think I will watch the exit to see what the people getting off the coaster look like.

Last season (2008) I rode SOB and it beat the crap out of me lol. I don't mind riding it again but it is rough to me and so is The Beast. I didn't ride SOB before the loop so I don't have much to compare to. Zipper, what part of the train did you ride? Maybe it depends on the car that you ride in. I was in the back.

I like Flight of Fear because of the darkness too. Actually, I wish it was darker lol. I like not knowing where your going to go. I haven't rode one that's outside with that same layout. I do hate that the brakes slow you down so much.

My favorite park is defintely Disneyland.  It has soooooooooooo many rides and all with top notch disney quality.  Its a great mix of nostalgia (Pirates & Mansion) with modern (Indiana Jones).  They also have great entertainment with Remember & Fantasmic.

it so matters what part of the train you ride on because when we went on gwazi we rode both in the front and in the back. The front wasn't rough at all. at all, in fact, we couldn't figure out what people were complaining about. But, when we rode in the back, that was rough......but good rough, you know.

Like with Ghostrider......I would never, ever ride in the back of that ride. period. you could probably snap your neck, lol, just ask brent. Ghostrider is definitely one of the woodies where you want to ride closer to the front. Rough as hell but even more fun.
wazomike

even though ghostrider is one of the roughest things i've ever been on it's one of my favorite woodies the second roughest is grizzly at CGA and holy crap that one actually has caused me physical pain. ghostrider has always seemed fun to me and you definitely get some good air time on it, but on grizzly i got on it perfectly fine and i sat in the back, when i got off my back hurt for the rest of the week!
Doug_Barnes

The Grizzly was created by Satan!!!   Bottom Line:  "The Worst Ride Ever Created!"  CGA need's to scrap that piece of dook and send it back to the depths of Hell.

Oh and Ghostrider... Definitely Rough, but worth the bruises baby!
wazomike

wasn't GCI building a woodie for CGA to be built in 09???
or am i just remembering wrong
Doug_Barnes

GCI has designed an amazing looking coater for CGA, unfortunately because of angry neighbors the ride has been delay indefinitely.
