Avatar preview:review

First let me say. The Imax at this theater SUCKS! This was not the huge 50-foot or Imax Dome style theater. This was a small sunken screen to look like a Imax screen. My warning to everybody, beware of false Imax screen. Look for the ones with 50-foot tall screen or Imax Domes, not these sunken screen where they charge you the same price as a Imax screen those tickets are expensive. The real Imax are the big ones thay are the size of buildings.

Ok, I went to see a preview of James Cameron's Avatar at Imax 3-D(so-call one). As a movie in looks interesting and has a big epic sci-fi adventure feel to it. Now to the brass taxes of it. The 3-D is very much a depth perspective. You see more behind things then stuff coming out. If you seen 3-D movies this year then you can get an ideal of what it’s like. Well the special effects is good, it’s cool looking, but it’s not nothing you have seen before. If you seen Lord of the Rings, Star Wars I-III, then you seen it before. The thing here is the movie is told in CG effect characters and settings for most of the time.  There is not much of live action only when humans come in. I think the movement and lands are bright and colorful, but it’s not mind blowing and 3-D isn’t so break though. It’s a HD CG pretty looking movie. Still it’s got good story and it looks like a movie that going to be big, but not this ground breaking movie that was suppose to change the world. I hope that this film is good, I would say check it out. It’s worth a trip to the REAL IMAX with 3-D

Imax sure got a big design in mind with there 3-D

Man these are some big 3-D glasses
