How do you listen to the Season Pass

I discovered podcasts late last year, at that time, I listened to them on my computer.
I clean carpets for a living, so I have a lot of time to listen to podcasts.   I bought an RCA Jet player, it was cheep and played podcasts.
The jet had many limitations and frequently shut itself off.  I bought a Creative Zen V plus 2 GB after that.  Good player, small and played limited video.  After 6 months that player died.
Then I bought a 4GB Zune.  This is the best player for podcasts I have found so far.  It plays video well, it is very intuitive.  Software does most of the loading and unloading of content for me.

My question is, what is the best player for podcasts.  I am happy with the Zune, but I am curious what else is out there.

If anyone has any comments or suggestions, please let me know.

Hey man,
I listen to mine on my iPod Video 30GB and it plays great. If I have to stop listening and turn it off for awhile, it will remember the spot that I stopped at the next time I turn it on... (Don't know if the Zune does that). A couple of the video podcast I watch, mainly A Walk In The Park Podcast, work great on there too. Excellent picture and I love that about my iPod. iTunes keeps me updated, so everytime I open up iTunes it checks for new episodes of all my podcast subscriptions and if there's a new it will download it. If I really like one of the episodes and want to keep it I can transfer it from the podcast list to my actual library. I've never had a Zune, but do the two basically do the same thing in terms of podcasts?

My experience with the creative zen is that they are not very user friendly. I have a humble 8 gig ipod (the red one LOL) and I love it for the same reasons as etap. It is extremely user friendly and has great memory and good battery life. Even the tiny screen didn't seem to bother me when I watched The Closer on it. This podcast (it's the only one I listen to, no time for others) i have listened to on the ipod, but i actually tend to listen to it through my laptop while I'm doing other stuff. Of course, I also hear it during the editing process so sometimes that's how I listen to it.

BUT, I like the ipod for me after using both creative and apple.

^ iPod buddy!!! lol

When I bought my Zen, the salesman tryed to talk me into the ipod.  It looks nice and is very popular, but I have always been and anti-apple kind of person, so I couldn't bring myself to buying one of them.
No real reason for my Apple hate, I have just always been that way, but it sounds like Microsoft made the new Zen alot like the ipod.
Thank you for your choices, like I said I have been spending many hours wearing earphones and I just want to know what works the best.

thanks again

Sorry, I meant to type Zune and I typed Zen.  Zen was my old player.

Yeah, I don't know much about the Zune. Doug probably does, he seems to be exceedingly more knowledgeable in that department. He had a Creative Nomad Zen bla bla bla that was huge a while back and he like it but, like my gripe about the tiny Creative Zen (which I gave to my 10 year old sister after I got the ipod) it wasn't very user friendly. He broke down and got himself the 80 gig ipod. I think the thing about apple is that it is idiot proof--which is good for me, I need that. Creative, and anything microsoft for that matter, I believe requires a little bit more savvy than I choose to have (LOL). I think after working and doing school all day on the computer it's nice to have something that I can just plug into the computer and have it do all the work for me.

I hear ya on the anti-apple for no apparent reason. I always was as well, but after microsoft went to Windows Vista, etc., I find myself softening a lot on the apple front and after I'm done with school (very difficult to find school programs that work with MAC) I will probably get myself a Mac because I like the operating system better. LOL, it's already starting with the ipod!!

Speaking of ears though, the ipod earphones I don't find particularly comfortable......I actually accidently forgot them when we went to hawaii last week and was "forced" to buy myself a pair from the Brookstone store in the Portland airport which are awesome, nice little soft cylinder pod things that fit right into your ears, not rest on the outside, clinging to those tender ear folds!! Great sound too. pricey ($30) but nice.

I've got an iPod too. I only know two people who have Zunes, but they love them. I really like my iPod, but there are times where I wonder how I would like the Zune if I had one.

^I'm in the same situation. I'm doing online classes through DeVry. I think I probably could have gotten away with having a Mac, because a lot of the Microsoft programs are also made for Mac but I didn't want to risk it. I really wanted a Macbook when I bought my laptop for school though. My Dell XPS has worked pretty well for me though even with Vista.

I also agree with you on the iPod earbuds. They hurt my ears. I was mad when my earbuds broke, but now I have a pair of $25 Panasonic in ear headphones and they are awesome!

I'm a semi driver and have my laptop with me.  So I'll download it onto my itunes and have the laptop through the radio through the old cassette deck adapters and listen to them that way.  It helps out on the long drives. =)

Just an update, I have been using the Microsoft Zune for several months now and it is exactly what I was looking for in a podcast player.  It seems to have most of the features and functionality  that everyone was telling me was on the IPod.  It automatically downloads and installs podcasts and removes the ones you have listened to.

So if you are like me and are still resisting being assimilated by Apple, the Zune is a nice player.

Apple does it again.

I'm not a complete dork, just when I'm being a roller coaster nerd I go all out! Also Zune does rule! BTW anyone else hear a zune touch will come out this fall? It' going to be epic!
Jcoaster2009

Wow! I listen on my Zune too! Although it's sort of problematic, since my main OS is Ubuntu. I just go into Windows every few days to get the latest episodes.
tommazy

I listen it on my ipod nano (4th generation) or listen it on the pc  Smile
Wylder

Another Zune listener.  We are on a roll.
SOON WE WILL RULE THE PODCAST WORLD.
Or make up 10%of it, at least.  Good to have you on board.
Doug_Barnes

^according to our stats... 3% of our listeners listen to the show through ZUNEs.  Hey, it's better than a couple of months ago.  Laughing
