Rollerman87

I guess I should :D

Hello. My name is Rollerman87, but you can call me William if you like Very Happy I love coasters and the overall amusement park industry! I am especially in love with the B&M named Riddler's Revenge Very Happy I just started listening to the podcast, and I firgured I'd join the forums. From what little bit I've heard on the podcast, I already have a ton of respect for Doug (don't know Brent too much yet Smile) and his wife (any woman who can say the designer of a coaster without batting an eyelash gets my respect Wink). I really hope to meet them soon (perhaps West Coast Bash), and even the people I've met so far on this site are respectful and full of life Very Happy

PS- If ever you see Rollerman87 on myspace, youtube, or a few coaster/RCT3 forums, that's me Very Happy It really is like an extension of my name.

LOL, thanks for the laugh this morning, I needed it after filling out my Bone Marrow Donation Form--which I encourage everyone to do!!  www.dkmsamericas.org Especially the non-white folks among us on this particular board, they are particularly looking for Latinos, African Americans, etc., i.e., not necessarily the milk-toast white folks such as myself, LOL.  It was really easy, all I did was Q-tip the inside of my cheeks for 20 seconds and put it in this envelope.  If you are a match with someone who needs bone marrow, the most common way they collect the sample from you is to give you some medication for a few days and then draw your blood and run it through a machine (somewhat similar to blood donating), in 20-30% of the cases they will have to take it from your pelvis (ouch  Crying or Very sad ) but they put you out for that.  So, I'm always trying to find the best way to help out without taking too much of my time. Plus I figure if one of my kids or anyone I loved needed bone marrow and I wasn't a match, I would hope that someone out there would be willing to help save their life, even if it inconvenienced them a little. ANYHOW, wait a second as I carefully step down from my soap box........I'm a klutz

LOL LOL, SO, back to Rollerman, Thanks so much for the complement. I had to learn the industry vernacular to be able to communicate with Doug.  Plus in my former life (i.e., a teenager and early 20s, you know, before kids) I was much more of a enthusiast.  Which is not to say I'm not an enthusiast now, it's just that the priorities have changed, I'm in school 3/4 time and work half-time and am a full time mom and we can all imagine the job it takes to be Doug's wife (LOL, I kid, I kid, he probably takes care of me much more than I do him!!! I'm a terrible wife! LOL  Embarassed )  I still resist somewhat, but I do tend to know most of the major companies and now, more than any other time I know who industry folks are, mostly because I am starting to meet some of them (which is awesome).  Robert Coker and Brent are totally awesome people.

We are totally going to be at the West Coast Bash, which I am completely looking forward to. Doug and I used to be the type who would decide the week before that we wanted to go down to SFMM and we would just up and leave, but then, you know, the kids came along and that put the kibosh on that.  So, now it took us at least 6 weeks to plan out the West Coast Bash, LOL.

Speaking about the goodness of the people on this board, I totally, 100%, whole-heartedly agree with you. I have never been a part of a message board where the people are so supportive of one another (heck I had someone offer to help me with organic chemistry homework! LOL) and genuinely happy for them if something good happens. I think it in large part stems from the leadership of the board (i.e., doug, he tends to be a pretty positive guy if you hadn't noticed), but also I do believe there is something special about the character of the main drivers of conversation on this board.  We had the opportunity to meet Wylder and his wife when we went to DW and they are two of the most awesome people Doug and I have ever met, after being with them for a day and a half we feel like we have made life-long friends and I can't imagine going to DW next time and not having them come along! LOL  And, I'm totally jealous about the Holiday World trip where a bunch of the listeners are going to meet up there and Doug and Robert will be doing a show live.

It's the people, the listeners, that drive the success of this show and Doug does it for all of you guys, you are his drive and interest in keeping the show fresh and new and, on the days when he's really tired and doesn't want to edit, etc., the listeners are always in his mind, driving him to get that editing done as crisp and professional as you guys are accustomed to, and part of what brings you back to the Seasonpass.

Anyhow--this got a little tangential and I apologize! LOL, maybe I'm waxing poetic because of the bone marrow thing, I don't know. But I'm so excited about the West Coast Bash (hopefully we will see listeners there!).  LOL, we'll let you know what we're wearing a few days before so you can look for us!

^^Wow. Thank you very much. I do indeed feel very welcome! I'm already loving the atmosphere of this site over a big site like TPR. Everyone loves coasters, but no one feels they are above everyone, which I believe does come from our wonderful leader Doug Very Happy

^Hi William Very Happy And thank you
Wylder

Hey William, welcome to the boards.

At 5'8" I am not above too many people.  I'm just here to have a good time and ride the rides.

Look forward to reading more of your posts.

^^^^We're just doing this for fun and community (I have a hard time ever considering myself a leader...  Laughing ).

Peace Peeps!
