Ratatouille E-Ticket Ride at Disney Studios Paris?
That's the buzz according to the following article. The attraction is planned as part of the celebration of Disneyland Paris Resort's 20th anniversary in 2012. The budget is estimated to to be between $120-140 million.
The concept is that guests would shrink to Remy (the rodent's) size and will roam around and eventually be chased in Gusteau's kitchen by Chef Skinner. The sets, as well as the animatronics, will be built with an oversized scale to further immerse guests into Remy's world.
Pretty cool!!!!
The dark ride will use the trackless ride system in which each ride vehicle moves freely (in often choreographed movements) around the themed sets on an open floor. In this system, the vehicles use a local positioning system (LPS) instead of a track. The only other ride system which uses this technology is Pooh's Hunny Hunt at Tokyo Disneyland.
So far, this is still a rumor given the economic climate (Even though evidence of this attraction is gathering). However, if this really comes out then it would be so cool!
I all for it. I like Ratatouille and would enjoy a ride base on him. I have to say that some tech that going into this ride.

I'm fascinated by the new technologies coming out now in regards to theme park attractions. The trackless ride system is awesome. There's so much an attraction can do with that technology. I'm also fascinated about Musion Eyeliner hologram projection technology (As seen in Universal Orlando's Disaster attraction). I'm curious as to how or if any attraction will start to use combinations of these technologies along with audio animatronics in the near future.
For a possible attraction like Ratatouille, I'm trying to imagine how they are going to pull off increasing the scale of the sets and turn it into a rat's perspective. If this thing is in the works. This should be very interesting. What if they add sensory elements and you can smell whats cooking in Gusteau's kitchen? Wow! I just hope this attraction IS in the works. ...got my fingers crossed! Lol!

I agree. I think there a future with the new and improve hologram tech is going to change the way theme park rides and show are done. I been thinking how they can improve "The Carousel of Progress" for the last part. And I think I know how it might done without having change the other stuff. It''s going to be a zen like ending, but I think it can work. I give everybody a view of what I think on the forums in the future. But there some Hologram now that really is amazing. Epson show a hologram tech that really good. Here's a picture.
Here's a video demo of that hologram tech.
Here the link to the story and a link to a fair demo of the tech.
