What a fantastic trip!
I'm sorry I couldn't be there for the Holiday World podcast, but what a thrilling vacation. I'm looking forward to hearing the edited version of our Kings Island discussion.
I have to add just how much I was impressed with Holiday World. I really felt like I was being welcomed as a friend there and I can't wait to go back someday.
After visiting five parks in five days in four states last week, I have to say that as nice as places like Cedar Point and Kings Island are, they're like visiting nice hotels, whereas Holiday World was like being at a really friendly Bed and Breakfast. You really get the impression that Holiday World is a community and not just a collection of folks collecting paychecks. |

My score was 900, Deanna's was in the 400 range.
I was all excited until I found out Chris got a 1400.
I have to agree with everyone else, it was a fantastic trip with wonderful people.
I am also waiting to hear the King's Island review, I hope you don't have to trim too much out of it. _________________ |

Great podcast. It's great to see Season Pass members together at the theme parks. Those pictures were awesome I really want to go to Holiday World to ride Pilgrims Plunge and Voyage. I also remember hearing about the free Pepsi and parking on Coaster Radio and thought how incredible that is. Also, it's a family run park. WOW! I can't see anything wrong with a park like this. I wish all towns can have a park like this.
Did any of you guy's meet EB from Coaster Radio. Back in April 2008 Coaster Radio blog EB stated he was moving to Indiana where he would be close to Holiday World. I wonder if any of guy's got to meet him or see him around.

Great show and pictures of the events. Love seeing you guy's there having fun and nice to hear from E_Tapley0687, UrsoChappell(SpongeBob new BFF, nice picture), Wylder(great pics), and see a good post of the SP Trip review. I hope more meetup or trip's can come in the future. |

| Great episode. Please answer me this. What's the deal with free soft drinks at Holiday World? Yours weren't the first gushing reviews I've heard of this place. |

It's just that, free drinks throughout the park. In places all over the theme park and water park they have a little building called the Oasis. There they have the, usually 3, soft drink fountains with most of the drinks Pepsi has to offer and small cups. Whenever your thirsty just walk right up to it and help yourself. It's really neat to come right off a ride, walk over to an "Oasis", and get a free drink lol.
Wylder, I definitely have to play you next time.... and Chris of course lol. _________________ |

Paula, thank you for the kind words. Thank you for "dragging" me up to Holiday World; it was an amazing experience, I will never forget the fun we had and I will DEFINITELY be back!

Urso, I agree it was a fantastic trip (of course you hit SFGA and Cedar Point even before you joined us... THE MAN!!).
We missed you during the podcast, but understand that health is the most important thing. Don't worry though, hopefully you'll be there for our next live show in Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.

Chris told me a tip that I'll definitely use next time I'm on the Gobbler... "shoot at the furthest targets." Nuff Said Peeps!
Don't worry about the KI review show... I'm working this one like a smooth operator.

Stingray,
It was a blast, hopefully we'll see you on a future meet.
I remember CoasterRadio.com digging Holiday World as well. I also remember hearing about EB moving to Indiana, however I have no idea if he was around Holiday World during our visit (it would have been nice to meet him though).

Pal, the soft drinks is just an example of how courteous Holiday World is. Plus they know it helps boost positive discussion throughout the community and Pepsi gets a nice little ad - each soft drink stop has a sign above that says "PEPSI OASIS" w/ a big Pepsi symbol beside it. I'm sure Pepsi is cool with that too... (look at how many times I've typed Pepsi in this post).
Why can't more theme parks operate with this mentality? hmmm... _________________ Doug Barnes

I made it there in 2007 not knowing much about the place, but was just blown away. It was such a hot day, that Oasis was badly needed, not to mention the free sunscreen. I ended up sitting and talking with the owner for about 30 minutes too, just adding to the fun day I had there.
