Ok now one of the most important factors that can make or break your trip is the weather. Whether it is hot or cold, rainy or dry, and anything else in between...has anybody every had an experience (good or bad) with the weather at a park?

I have one to start this off right away.  Back in '07 I had visited Universal Orlando for the first time and of course, it was tourist hell during July in the summer.  As always predicted, Florida summers comprise of hot and humid weather, and rainy afternoons, and even more humidity at night.  We went to both IOA and the Studios in the same day and at about 1oclock, we headed back towards Jurassic Park and stood in line for it.  We were lucky enough to skip an entire 45 minute line by attempting to split my group of 4, but we got put back together so it was an easy 45 minute free fast pass.

BUT....

As fate would have it, we sat down in the boat and started going up the lift hill, and the torrential downpour began.  No thunder or anything, but the most intense amount of rain I've every experienced.  And half of the Jurassic Park ride is outdoors.  Luckily, I had not taken any electronics or anything and came prepared wearing my swim trunks and my sandles. As much as it was a little annoying being out in the rain, it was such a fun and memorable experience Smile

I have had some of the best days at Darien Lake when the weather was cool which keep the crowds home. The one day I remember the best is the last year of Six Flags owning Darien Lake[like 3 years ago] the weather was cool so no crowds[and it was at the price gouging point on food, and parking that also keep peps home]. There was no line for RoS and only like 15min wait at most for the very front. I went on it like 8 times. Also I got to go on Viper for my normal 8 or more times a visit. I got on every coaster and the top spin twister.  Did everything I wanted to do as much as I wanted too. Great day.

I never really had a problem with rain at the parks although I worry about that during trip planning. The only time I really had a problem with rain was in Orlando. It seems like, when it rains there it pours and looks like it will be going for a long time, but I'm beginning to realize it doesn't last long at all.

I haven't really been to a park as a guest when it has rained, but one time, when I was working at Pony Express, we were having this really weird rain. Literally, we would check restraints and everything and the sky would be dry. We would send the train to the launch track, at which point it would start raining. As it launched, the rain got hard and steady, until the train hit the bracks, where the rain would stop once again. Bringing the train back into the station, all the riders were soaked like they had just ridden Bigfoot Rapids, but it perfectly dry when we unloaded them Very Happy It was quite funny to experience.
